One day our Terminal Server users started reporting that they were recieving an error while logging off: Windows cannot update your roaming profile... Event 1509 was being logged in the Windows Event Application log. The perimissions on the profile share and folder were correct.
The problem was the result of the Documents and Settings folder being compressed. Apparently the system drive was running low on disk space and someone compressed it to free up space. Our Profile server is on an EMC NAS which must not support compressed files. Uncompressing the content worked however ntuser.pol seemed to fail to uncompress in some profiles and had to be uncompressed individually.
