Summary
HP ProLiant DL320 G6 Server - Internal Health LED on Front Panel Flashes Amber Instead of Red When a Critical Fan Failure Event Occurs
Details
DESCRIPTION
On an HP ProLiant DL320 G6 server with Integrated Lights-Out 2 (iLO 2) Firmware Version 1.75, the internal health LED located on the front panel will flash amber instead of red if a critical fan failure event occurs.

This only affects the color of the LED. If a fan failure occurs, the information is logged in the HP ProLiant Integrated Management Log Viewer and the server will perform a graceful shutdown as expected due to the critical fan failure event.

SCOPE
Any HP ProLiant DL320 G6 server with Integrated Lights-Out 2 (iLO 2) Firmware Version 1.75 (or earlier).

RESOLUTION
To ensure that the internal health LED flashes red in the event of a critical fan failure, upgrade to Integrated Lights-Out 2 (iLO 2) Firmware Version 1.77 (or later).

Perform the following steps to obtain the latest iLO 2 firmware version:

Click on the following URL:
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html?pageDisplay=drivers

Type "iLO 2" in the product box and then press the ENTER key.
Click on "HP Integrated Lights-Out 2 (iLO 2) Firmware."
Select the appropriate operating system.
Click on "Firmware - Lights-Out Management."
Locate Firmware Version 1.77 (or later) and then choose the desired firmware upgrade method.
Until the firmware upgrade is installed, refer to the HP ProLiant Integrated Management Log Viewer for fan information. The ProLiant Integrated Management Log Viewer can be accessed by clicking on Start > All Programs > HP System Tools > HP ProLiant Integrated Management Log Viewer.
